Extended Schools

Waverley Primary School is an Extended School

An extended school is a school which offers additional opportunities and facilities for its pupils, parents and wider community.

We also provide a varied menu of activities both during school hours and after school.

Every child in school has the opportunity to extend their learning through out of school visits and visitors to the school.

We have visiting theatre groups and organise a visit to an evening performance at the theatre for pupils.

We lead residential visits for pupils in Year 6.

Every child in school is learning a Modern Foreign Language and is having French lessons with the added benefit of a French assistant !

Pupils are given the opportunity to learn a musical instrument.

We offer a range of after school activities run by school staff.

Leading Parent Partnership

Working on the 'Leading Parent Partnership Award' has given us a clear focus to ensure that families are being given the opportunity to learn together. Groups have been organised in school and have enabled parents to become more involved in their own learning through accredited courses as well as vocational programmes.

We work closely with specialist support services

Staff at the school liase closely with specialist support services such as speech therapy and family support services to support both our pupils and their families.

We are aiming to provided wider community access to school facilities

We have run adult learning classes in Family Learning and are hoping to arrange more in the future, including Let's Get Cooking !
